JAKARTA — Inforayanews.co.id , – Hampir seluruh dosen yang tergabung dalam Aliansi Akademisi Menolak Omnibus Law serta mengecam surat dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) yang mengimbau mahasiswa tidak lagi ikut unjuk rasa menolak Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja.

Dalam pernyataan sikapnya mereka menyebut himbauan Kemendikbud bentuk pembatasan terhadap kebebasan berpendapat dan kebebasan akademik yang dijamin oleh konstitusi.

“Serta bertentangan dengan Prinsip-Prinsip Surabaya untuk Kebebasan Akademik (2017), khususnya prinsip 4 dan prinsip 5,” kata Abdil Mughis Mudhoffir, dosen Universitas Negeri Jakarta, mewakili Aliansi Akademisi Menolak Omnibus Law, Sabtu (10/10).

Aliansi Akademisi menyebut, secara institusional, perguruan tinggi memiliki otonomi dalam menjalankan fungsi Tri Dharma perguruan tinggi dan karena itu seharusnya bebas dari segala bentuk intervensi politik.

Dengan otonomi itu, tanggung jawab perguruan tinggi dalam memproduksi dan mendiseminasikan pengetahuan seharusnya hanya kepada kebenaran, bukan pada penguasa.

“Oleh karena itu, tidak seharusnya perguruan tinggi menggadaikan integritasnya sebagai lembaga pengetahuan dengan semata menjadi pelayan kepentingan politik penguasa,” kata Abdil.

Aliansi juga menyatakan bahwa demonstrasi adalah tindakan konstitusional, bagian dari cara dalam menyampaikan pendapat.

Demonstrasi, kata Abdil, terutama dilakukan sebagai respons atas buntunya saluran kritik, baik yang telah disampaikan melalui kertas kebijakan, karya ilmiah maupun opini di media.

“Himbauan kepada mahasiswa untuk tidak lagi ikut berdemonstrasi karena alasan membahayakan keselamatan dan kesehatan di masa pandemi tidak sejalan dengan kengototan pemerintah untuk tetap menyelenggarakan pilkada serentak di berbagai daerah,” ucap Abdil.

Selain poin soal himbauan tidak demo, Aliansi juga mengkritik himbauan kepada dosen untuk tidak memprovokasi mahasiswa melakukan demonstrasi menolak UU Cipta Kerja.

Hal itu, disebut sebagai bentuk intervensi politik terhadap independensi dosen sebagai akademisi yang hanya bertanggung jawab pada tegaknya kebenaran.

“HImbauan semacam ini juga cara yang merendahkan seolah mahasiswa tidak memiliki independensi dalam bersikap melihat ketidakadilan dan kesewenangan penguasa,” kata Aliansi

Atas penilaian-penilaian di atas, Aliansi Akademisi mendesak Kemendikbud untuk tidak membungkam aspirasi civitas akademika dalam menyampaikan pendapat menolak berlakunya UU Cipta Kerja dengan mencabut surat himbauan tersebut.

Aliansi juga mendesak rektor seluruh Indonesia menolak segala bentuk intervensi politik yang dinilai sekadar melayani kepentingan penguasa, dengan menolak melaksanakan surat himbauan Dirjen tersebut.

“Mendorong perguruan tinggi seluruh Indonesia untuk mendukung aksi demonstrasi dan mendorong insan akademik perguruan tinggi aktif mengkritisi dan membantah berbagai disinformasi yang disebarkan oleh berbagai pihak untuk mengelabuhi publik mengenai bahaya UU Cipta Kerja,” ucap Aliansi.

Kemendikbud sebelumnya telah menyebarkan surat berisi himbauan kepada mahasiswa agar tak lagi ikut dalam unjuk rasa menolak Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja.

HImbauan itu tertuang dalam surat nomor 1035/E/KM/2020. Kemendikbud meminta mahasiswa mengikuti kuliah secara daring dan membantu pemerintah untuk mensosialisasikan Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja ke masyarakat.

Selain itu Kemendikbud meminta dosen tidak memprovokasi mahasiswa untuk berdemonstrasi, dengan dalih dapat membahayakan keselamatan dan kesehatan di masa pandemi.(IS-Red)
